International food

All meals are served on campus for catered students, cooked by our team of onsite Chefs. As we look after students from all over the world, we know the importance of enjoying a taste of home as well as trying food from different cultures. Recent meals include – braised beef, stir-fried noodles, roast chicken, steamed cod, roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and borsch.

Laundry

We encourage our students to live independently, preparing you well for life at university. Personal laundry is your responsibility and washers and dryers are available in the residences, and washing powder is available free of charge.

Evenings

For students living in our main campus residence you should be back by 19.30 Sunday-Thursday, unless you are taking part in an activity, to give you time for Prep (supervised study). On weekends you will be back in your residence at either 20.30 or 21.30, depending on your age. Your evening can then be spent doing your homework and private study in your room, or socialising with your friends.

Wireless access

All of our residences have wireless internet available. We restrict wireless access between midnight and 06.00 to help you get a good night’s sleep and be ready to learn again.

Religious worship

CATS Cambridge is a non-denominational organisation. We respect your right to practise your religion and are happy to give you details of the closest church, mosque, synagogue, temple or alternative place of religious worship. A prayer room is also available in Elizabeth House and arrangements can be made during times of fasting. We also provide Halal food.

Getting around Cambridge

We encourage you to walk or cycle from your accommodation as you will either be based on campus or a short distance away. There is also a bus stop right outside the main campus.

Leaving the campus

If you wish to leave the campus overnight or leave the city you can apply for an exeat – this will allow you to explore other amazing parts of the UK such as nearby London, or visit university open days.
