University Foundation Programme students achieve places at top universities
11 July 2018
“My biggest academic achievement to date is getting a place at the University of Nottingham.”
Whilst CATS College students are in the process of reviewing and accepting their university offers, we share Anita’s joy about her place at the University of Nottingham, a member of the Russell Group and also ranked 18 in the Times Sunday Times University Ranking 2018. Anita has chosen to study Pharmacy and follow in the footsteps of her parents, who are both pharmacists at home in Nigeria. Her dream is to open her own Hospital and Pharmacy School.
Anita studied Maths (A*), Chemistry (A) and Biology (A*) on the one-year University Foundation Programme at CATS College Canterbury.
“It’s been very exciting and fun although it can be very challenging. I’ve had very supportive teachers and that’s paramount for any student to succeed. The teachers are very knowledgeable and they also have this ability to impact the knowledge they have on students. It’s one thing to be knowledgeable and it’s another to impact the knowledge."
“Compared to where I was last year in terms of my academics, I think I’ve moved ahead three times because of their help and of my own efforts."
Talking about the activities she enjoyed outside of class, Anita said:
“The Young Enterprise has helped me develop some business skills and the Student Council has helped me in public speaking and communication as well. CATS College has lots of programmes for students to develop your talent and other interpersonal skills.”
We wish Anita the best of luck for her future studies.
