Progression agreement with the University of Exeter paves the way for talented CATS College students

University preparation 30 January 2019

CATS Colleges and the University of Exeter have formalised a progression agreement to give CATS Colleges’ students guaranteed progression to the University of Exeter upon meeting the agreed entry criteria.

Consistently ranked a top 15 UK university, and one of the prestigious Russell Group universities, renowned for its contribution to global research, the University of Exeter is seeking to create graduates of distinction within a community of the most talented and creative minds.

As part of its commitment to academic excellence, the University of Exeter has also earmarked over £30,000 in scholarships to support talented CATS students. Once a student has been offered a place on an undergraduate programme, they will be eligible for a partial tuition fee scholarship without the need for a separate application.

Commenting on the importance of the progression agreement and the scholarship programme, Stuart White, CEO of CATS Colleges says:

“At CATS, our aim is to help students be their best and prepare for university success. Promoting the University of Exeter’s scholarship programme and formalising the progression agreement paves the way for CATS students aspiring to study at one of the UK’s top universities.”

Jane Chafer, Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the University of Exeter adds:

“Our international student community is made up of over 5000 students from more than 140 countries outside the UK. International students are incredibly important to the diversity of our academic community, bringing different experiences, perspectives and ideas – all of which go towards shaping our future world and finding innovative solutions to our global challenges. International study changes the lives of the young people and families who benefit from and invest in it. We are hugely excited to be extending our partnership with CATS Colleges because of this.”

In 2018, a number of students progressed from CATS Colleges to Exeter to study a variety of degrees such as BSc Economics and Politics, BA Politics and International Relations and BSc Economics with Industrial Experience. Askar, a former CATS student from Kazakhstan now studying BA Politics and International Relations (Penryn Campus) comments:

“The main reason why I chose to study at the University of Exeter was my desire to expand knowledge in Politics. The university ranking was high for my course and in general, I found it really nice and lovely place, where I could develop specific skills for my future career. I am glad I made the right choice!”

The progression agreement was signed by George Casley, Academic Director, of CATS Colleges and Jane Chafer, Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the University of Exeter on 29 January 2019.
