Abdullah Abomilhim, who now works at the Istituto Marangoni School of Fashion and Design London as Programme Leader and Lecturer, got back to business and gave students a masterclass on ‘Bloomberg Market Concepts’, a Bloomberg certified course available at CATS London.
CATS offers all students access to Bloomberg Market Concepts, an eight hour self-paced course that provides an interactive introduction to the financial markets and the Bloomberg terminals. Students typically complete the course in eight weeks as part of their extracurricular activities in the school.
The course covers four key areas: Economics, Equities, Fixed Income and Currencies. Being taught how to access and understand this information through the Bloomberg terminals is an invaluable part of the students’ enrichment experience.
Abdullah Abomilhim spoke to students about the five most popular tech companies; Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google and how to use the terminal to find company information. Students were shown how to easily access essential economics and financial news and Bloomberg’s Twitter account on the markets - twitter.com/markets.
Liza from Russia is currently studying Bloomberg Market Concepts as one of her after-school activities, she commented:
“The support we get is excellent. Bloomberg Market Concepts Club is helping to strengthen my university application. I know I will study Bloomberg at university too so studying it at CATS is giving me an advantage against other applicants.”
The masterclass is part of the Business Enrichment Programme aimed at preparing students for university success. Through masterclasses students learn about different aspects of commerce and what it is like to work in a range of professions.
