CATS student meets offer to study Engineering Mathematics at the University of Bristol
21 June 2019
Congratulations to University Foundation Programme (UFP) student Marta, from Poland, who received straight A*s in Physics (A*), Maths (A*) and Business (A*).
Speaking about her achievement, Marta said:
“I never thought that I would get triple A*s. I called my family, they told that they were proud of me and actually I am really proud of myself.”
Marta decided she wanted to study at an international school and chose UFP at CATS Cambridge. Her motivation was to develop her English skills and experience a style of teaching to prepare her for university – all in one year.
“I learnt how to manage my time, how to present, how to write assignments in English… these skills will help throughout my life.”
Marta attributed her success to meeting new people and trying new things as she was an active member of the Physics Club. Reflecting on her experience she added:
“I look at life differently now. Improving my language skills has really been the most valuable lesson, I started Upper Intermediate (IELTS 6.0) and now I’m Advanced (IELTS 7.5). Without language, I know that it will be difficult to be successful in life.”
Marta valued the higher education support she received while at CATS. It gave her the edge when preparing for, and applying to study, at a university in the UK.
“I didn’t know what degree or university to choose… the higher education officer was the best, I wouldn’t have found a degree subject without her.”
Marta has an offer to study Engineering Mathematics at the University of Bristol. This highly employable subject applies mathematical theory to complex real-world problems, opening doors to careers in data science and engineering.
We wish Marta the best of luck for her future studies.
