CATS Foundation assessment continues for students anywhere in the world
27 March 2020
The UK government’s response to COVID-19 means that our students are no longer in our Colleges. CATS has therefore produced a clear, supportive response so that CATS UFP students can complete their studies, continue to be assessed, receive grades and progress to the best possible university for them.
CATS UFP benefits from the support and advice of our Chief External Examiner, Dr Nicola King of the University of Exeter, and subject-specific examiners from a range of British universities, including many from the Russell Group. In light of the changed circumstances of our students, we have drawn up a revised approach to their assessment that is rigorous, but pragmatic.
Speaking of this development George Casley, CATS Academic Director, said, “Collaborating with universities across the UK the CATS UFP team have worked exceptionally hard to produce an altered scheme of assessment, accessible from anywhere in the world, that has academic integrity, challenge and the ability to differentiate the abilities of students so that university colleagues can make the right decisions about student progressions. I am very grateful for all of their hard work and wish all our students well as they continue to learn and be assessed online with us.”
As well as providing learning and pastoral support online CATS will continue to provide excellent, impartial one to one Higher Education advice to all students in their final year of study with us. In these times CATS will do everything that we can to ensure that students continue to flourish with us and progress well to great universities.
