CATS College Canterbury is proud to announce the appointment of Severine Collins as our new Principal. Discover more about this exciting evolution of our team.
Severine joined CATS Colleges 2014 as Vice Principal, with over 25 years’ international experience in independent education.
Starting her teaching career in Yorkshire, she became the Head of Modern Languages at Brighton College for five years, before moving to Switzerland to run the IB Middle Years Programme in an international bilingual school.
Driven to explore her passion for technology and the opportunities it offers students, Severine returned to the UK to do a Master’s Degree in ICT and eLearning education at Kings College London. She resumed her career as Vice-Principal of a leading London sixth-form college before becoming Vice Principal, later Acting Principal, of CATS Canterbury.
Severine is committed to educational excellence and ensuring all students have a positive, enriching and rewarding experience during their time in college. She’s a passionate believer in the transformative power of education to develop leadership, courage, respect and integrity in students, as well as academic prowess.
She believes it’s vitally important to raise young people to become strong, confident and independent young adults, successfully equipped to face the growing challenges of university and society after leaving school.
Her wide experience in teaching, learning, and boarding equips her with understanding for the needs of our international students. She endeavours to work closely with colleagues to ensure students feel supported yet challenged, safe but independent, and understanding of others while remaining individuals.
