5 day boarding program

You can experience boarding school life and still return home on the weekends to spend time with family.

Board with us 5 days a week

  • Students are fully immersed boarders for 5 days and can take advantage of the community at CATS Academy Boston, structured study time, engagement with evening activities, access to faculty and time with peers.
  • 5-day boarders return home on the weekends to spend time with family.
  • Students are free from commuting to spend more time on their studies and engage in the school community.

How it works

  • The week begins on Sunday evening, with check-in between 5.30 and 7.30pm, and concludes Friday afternoon after extra-curricular activities end.
  • Accommodation fees for 5-day boarders: $15,000

Students are admitted to CATS Academy Boston on a rolling basis. We encourage you to submit your application early.

Application Procedure


  • Download and complete the application form.

  • Provide academic transcripts from the last two years. Download the Record Request form here.

  • Visit CATS Academy Boston and interview with the Director of Admissions.  Please call 857-400-9700 to arrange your visit and interview.  Your visit to CATS Academy Boston will be 45-60 minutes and include a campus tour, informational meeting, and student interview.

  • Submit SSAT or ISEE test scores (optional)

  • Request Financial Aid application (optional)


  • Within two days of receiving your application, you will receive a confirmation of receipt along with a request for any additional documents, if necessary.

  • Once all application documents have been received, a conditional offer will be sent along with the Student Enrollment Contract.

  • Carefully read the details of the Student Enrollment Contract - then sign, initial and send electronically or through the mail to Admissions.

  • Pay the registration fee ($200) and the deposit ($2,300 boarding or $900 for day students).


  • Students will receive a pre-arrival handbook and a packet of medical forms which need to be completed and returned to Student Services prior to the student attending classes. You can also already download the Pre-Arrival Handbook (or preview it below) as well as the Pre-arrival Contact and Medical Forms

  • Students must provide arrival details to Admissions and should aim to arrive for the first day of orientation and no later than the weekend before the course start date.

  • Payment of full fees are due two weeks prior to the start of the first semester unless other payment arrangements have been made in advance.

All fees are subject to a $200 registration fee and a deposit of $2,300 (boarding) or $900 (day), refundable at the end of the course.
*Early Bird Discount available only to students who pay their fees in full by March 31, 2016.

Included in fees

  • Tuition fees include any AP exams undertaken, ACT/SAT preparation course for 11th and 12th graders (examination fees are not included), after school extracurricular and sports program, and lunch for day students.
  • Accommodation fees include the provision of full-board meals (three per day on weekdays and two per day on weekends). Shuttle transportation for homestay students is provided.
  • Students will be responsible for standardized exam fees which may include but are not limited to the SAT, ACT, TOEFL or IELTS.

Accommodation during vacations

  • During winter and spring vacations, the residences are closed - students may return home, stay with approved family/guardians or, if available, a homestay can be arranged for an additional cost.
